Leila, a waitress in El Paso, Texas, is trying to work hard and be a very good girl.  She is determined to keep away
from the bad influences in her life.  That is until Deklin ‘Dek’ Kinkaid walks back into her life.  Dek is a drop dead
gorgeous hunk just oozing sex appeal, but he is also a werewolf.  Leila met Dek at the tender age of seventeen when
he helped her escape from her abusive stepfather.  Accepting Dek’s werewolf side is not the problem for Leila but
he broke her heart when he abandoned her for his pack “family”.  Now that he is back, will she be able to resist him
and her own attraction?

Walk Away by Treva Harte is a werewolf story with teeth.  The sexual tension reverberates off the pages.  Leila
and Dek’s sexual connection is very powerful.  The attraction they have for each other is the cornerstone of the
story.  The choices they have made in their lives have moved them to this particular point in their lives.  Ms. Harte’s
character development adds great depth to the story producing characters the reader can connect with.  A caveat
to squeamish readers that this story has male/male love scenes that might offend some.

The pack family and their struggle to accept the changes in their world make them seem very real.  The challenges
and heartache they experience draws the reader further into the story.  I enjoyed
Walk Away by Treva Harte and
I will keep watching to see if Ms. Harte will continue writing about this werewolf pack.

Leila met Dek when she was seventeen but after an intense yet brief affair he suddenly disappeared. She swore she
would be different after that and she has been a “Good Girl” for the last five and a half years. Dek’s back now and
while she can try to escape him, he is difficult to resist when he is determined to have something.

Dek wants Leila – he always did, but he followed the family rules the first time. Now he wants Leila to join his family
and Dek won’t take no for an answer. If Leila wants to follow the rules, then she can learn his family’s rules - scary,
hot, exciting rules - and live by those. Dek has made his decision and the rest of the family, including Leila, better get
used to it because he is the Alpha of this family.

Whooee! This is hot, hot, hot sex right from the get go. All flavors of the sex are steamy including the graphic male
on male sex scenes. If male on male dominance sex bothers you, this may not be the story for you, but I found those
scenes to be disturbingly erotic. More importantly the scenes did not disrupt the flow of the story and Treva
Harte did a great job of weaving every sexual moment to fit within the frame of Dex and Leila’s relationship.

Leila is a powerful personality, but it is the character of Dex that drives this story. There is nothing like a very
dominant alpha to get the juices flowing and Dex fits that bill and then some. I particularly enjoyed when he and
Leila would have to come to new understandings about themselves in order to deal with each other and their
relationship.  There are a few timing issues within the story – gaps between the ending event in one chapter and the
beginning event in the next – that could throw the reader off stride.  Overall, I enjoyed
Walk Away and look
forward to other stories by Ms. Harte.
