The Merry Virgin by Dallas Coleman
Category: Historical /Regency

Pirating females’ are uncommon on the seas, Ginie captains the Merry Virgin eight years now and without a mutiny. She
“inherits” the ship from Luc Lachance, who murdered her brother and forced Ginie to marry him. A small knife works well
against a husband’s balls – it cuts clean and with precision.  Docking in Campeachy, Ginie encounters a ghost from her
past and struggles not to succumb to L’Ange’s seductive wiles.  However, succumbing once… or even twice isn’t a full
surrender.

I loved this story.
The Merry Virgin hands over a delightful read supported by an enthralling plot. Never to
disappoint, Dallas Coleman casts rich characters teeming with feminine sexuality that comes alive.

Lady Luck by Julia Talbot
Category: Historical /Western

Maggie, also known as Lady Luck, honed her card skills at a tender age.  She plays a clean game and her lucky winning
causes the most trouble; forcing her to brandish a derringer while backing out of the saloon. Deputy to her father’s
Sheriff, Samantha “Sammy” Kane watches over Maggie to keep her out of trouble and keep other trouble away.

Always a pleasure to read Julia Talbot’s work,
Lady Luck masterly portrays the old west, with women gamblers and
Deputy Sheriffs. Maggie’s a saucy, sensual woman who brightens the strong cast.  Sammy is refreshing in her youthful
naivety while exploring first love.

Bustles and Doeskin by BA Tortuga
Category: Historical/Regency

Eleanor’s a proper English lady who follows the necessitated etiquette of her era. Against all feminine propriety, with
pride and confidence Mad Minerva could ride, hunt, and shoot like any man. Not intimidated by Eleanor’s airs, Minnie’s
plainspoken and matches her wit for wit. Enlivened how Minnie so easily takes her to task, Eleanor’s passing interest
turns to carnal hunger.

With wanton sexuality
Bustles and Doeskin amused me and kept me captivated.  The characters, Eleanor and Minnie
are a bit lewd as they overcome their differences and embrace their likenesses. Ms. Tortuga spins a pleasing tale of
opposite’s attraction.

No Business by Parhelion
Category: Historical/1930’s

Collecting information for Margot Blake’s gossip column, Vera Seward finds Vincent Pelasky dead in his office. What
clues Vera gathers from the crime scene seemingly connects Pelasky’s murder to the hit-and-run behind the El Matador
Theater. Their relentless quest places Vera and Margot closer to confirming their suspicions, while the hired muscle gets
more persuasive in quietening them.

Back dropped in 1930’s Hollywood,
No Business’ who-dunnit plot is sprinkled with big moneyed characters that give
this story realistic charm. I enjoyed Parhelion’s murder mystery with its twist and turns, which kept me guessing throughout.

Coming Home by Jennifer Joyce
Category: Contemporary

Her career is dangerous with long stretches of time away from home and May likes the adventure, except her love for
Cassie comes first. After an arduous love making Cassie confesses to wanting a child but May expresses reservations.
Cassie’s tears and adamant wanting makes May consider a desk job after years in the field.

Coming Home is a gentle romance with endearing characters whose relationship is at a pivotal point. Cassie and May’s
talk about starting a family makes this story genuine and emotional. Their sex is delicious but natural.  Ms. Joyce writes a
touching story that I fell in love within the first page.

Free by Tracey Shellito

Jazz observes Vrijheid for two weeks before deciding to use her for cover. As a Black Op she will use any means to get
closer to her target – even seduction. A simple life, Vrij works in a sandwich shop and sells her paintings to tourists. Jazz
purposely makes herself known at the dance club hoping Vrij takes her home.

Tracey Shellito spins a deep and engaging story that possesses vivid characters and a suspenseful plot.  I enjoyed the
intrigue of
Free, with its spy-ish theme and hope that Ms. Shellito creates more captivating reads.

Guarding Kate by Samantha Boswell
Category: Contemporary

Detective Erica Rivers is undercover at a fertility clinic for gays and lesbians wanting to start a family.  The death threats
make Dr. Katherine Ward jumpy and no wonder. The officer sent by the police department was enchanting and a
suitable distraction. On the other hand, Erica is frustrated the perp hasn’t showed since her arrival, and her mounting lust
for Dr. Ward is disruptive.

I can feel the sexual tension as
Guarding Kate unfolds its suspenseful plot. Samantha Boswell depicts strong and
capable characters that move the story along beautifully. This was an absorbing read that kept me interested and
wanting more, well after I finished.

Kiss of Steel by Crystal Barela
Category: Contemporary

McClane knew they wouldn’t just let her walk away freely, she must be disposed of and swiftly. The Order sends the
perfect person to kill McClane – her ex-lover Jane.  Now, taking another agent along with her prompts the Order to
vigorously search and destroy.

Kiss of Steel is passionate with a little bondage to make the loving kinky but pleasing.  Crystal Barela writes a fast
paced plot, peppered with savory characters that provide unstoppable action. An engrossing read which fascinated me
to the end.

Inexorable by Jodi Payne
Category: Sci-Fi/Futuristic

Her creation, the Excalibur’s maiden voyage is also Sabrina LaMarra’s last mission.  Josephine “Jo” Winters is the
black sheep of the family, she cusses like a sailor and has a temper to match. In route home from a cargo pick-up at
Rodan-8 Sabrina wakes sensing something amiss. Her natural telepathy signals an inhuman species on board the ship.

Inexorable packs a wallop with its rapid action plot. Jodi Payne composes a riveting story accompanied by strong,
down-to-earth characters that cement my butt to my chair and keep my eyes glued to the monitor. Rousing and sizzling,
the sex is as lively as the read. Would I read this story again? Oh yeah!

Remember that rhyme, “Sugar and spice, and everything nice…”? Well, take my word for it, it’s a misnomer.
Locked and
Loaded
proves it. A worthy read packed with action, adventure and women who aren’t afraid of weapons and who can
blow shit up!  The sex is sultry, infused with strong feminine characters that belay womanhood and independence. The
plots are plausible although captivating. Torquere Press has done it again; gathering a group of engaging writers and
letting them do what they do best – create imaginative and riveting stories so readers can escape from reality.
