A little jealousy can add spice to a relationship but when it comes from someone who has spent her life believing all
men are cheating mongrels the relationship is doomed to fail. Madison Cahill comes from a home where her father
was a habitual cheater and her mother wound up embittered toward all men. Her past still didn’t stop the whirlwind
courtship with Gavin Cahill, a best selling author whom she fell in love with immediately. Even with their explosive
chemistry, Madison still has doubts that are confirmed when she finds him in the arms of his employee. Months later
Madison finds herself haunted by remembered ecstasy and stranded in a snowstorm with Gavin, who she has never
stopped loving. They are given a short reprieve to see if they can take the love they both still have and find a way to
get back together again.
When I began reading Irresistible I was praying it wouldn’t turn into a bitter woman tale that would make my teeth
ache. Thank goodness Ms. Havlir took a classic theme and made it into an intense story about a wife with lingering
doubts, her innocent husband and how a less than innocent situation caused horrendous damage to their
matrimonial bliss. What this story also showed me is, sometimes even what my eyes thought I saw, could be way off
from the reality of what really happened. When you decide you love someone you have to trust them and think
about a decision to change what can’t be easily reversed. Madison and Gavin may have lacked communication skills
where each was concerned but they didn’t lack the ability to burn up the sheets. These two were flammable
whenever they came in contact and Ms. Havlir’s ability to ignite lust in this reader was skilled to say the least. I look
forward to checking out other offerings by this author especially if this heat level is what I can expect.
