Meredythe Welsh is pissed when her boss pulls her off the biggest story of her career and assigns her to a serial killer
story, after all it’s not every day you see a Pulitzer Prize sailing out of the window. Running into a stranger in her bosses
office that sets her body aflame doesn’t help settle her nerves or her temper. However, the possibility of an
undiscovered serial killer soon has her itching to investigate, no mater how dangerous a path it may be to follow.
Bleddyn has been waiting centuries for Meredythe to save his soul, to remove the bloodlust that he fights with every
day. Throughout history Meredyth has been brought before Bleddyn in the hopes of curing his curse.
Born of a cursed mother, Bleddyn’s archenemy, Slade sees Meredythe’s blood as his key to immortality. Now as
Meredythe closes in on a killer Bleddyn must find a way to win over the woman he has loved and lost for lifetimes. Will
Bleddyn be able to fight his eternal enemy to keep the woman of his heart safe or will Bleddyn be forced to once again
watch her die?
Full of action and adventure Fires of Solstice is a wonderfully dramatic addition to Ms. Mays stable. While fans of
Ms. Mays may be disappointed to realize that Fires of Solstice is not part of her existing werewolf Heat series I
believe Fires of Solstice is a strong stand-alone story. Meredythe is a strong determined woman who has the tenacity
of a bulldog when something draws her interest or curiosity. Bleddyn is a good man who thinks he isn’t due to the
circumstances of his birth, watching as he fights his bloodlust, whether he wins or looses, stirs sympathy for the strong
cursed warrior.
The heat between the pair is enough to keep you warm and toasty but doesn’t flame to the same temperatures as Ms.
Mays earlier books. While the flashbacks to Meredythe’s earlier lives can work to disassociate you from the ongoing
storyline rather than invest you further in Meredythe’s pain, they invest you so completely in Bleddyn’s tale that you
can’t help but read on to the thrilling completion of Fires of Solstice.
