Fated: Cascadia Wolves Bk. 6

Released: August 2008

Megan Warden held a very important, powerful role in the Cascadia Pack – she was an Enforcer, the second in
command. Unfortunately, she was also unmated which proved to be more of a hardship than her job because of the
continuous nagging from her grandmother, mother and mated sisters. While traveling in a car to a cousin’s wedding with
the irksome crew Megan’s nerves were almost to the break point as her mother starting on her favorite subject – Megan’s
unmated issue. The last thing Megan expected to find was her mate and at her cousin’s wedding no less. Yet, that’s
exactly what happened when she was asked to make an airport to collect the dashing Shane Rosario.
Doctor Shane Rosario refuted his wolf within and shape-shifting was a very rare event for him. As a matter of fact he
could count the number of times on one hand that he had let his wolf out. Born of a human mother and a werewolf father,
while growing up Shane’s mother instilled in him to hate his wolf and his father allowed it to happen. Yet, a couple of
years ago when a close cousin asked him to anchor his mate, Shane gladly accepted knowing that he was required to
change into a wolf. And, if it wasn’t for honoring his bond mate and cousin, Shane would not have attended a werewolf
wedding.
While being picked up from the airport by his bond mate’s sister, Megan Warden, Shane’s wolf instantly recognized his
mate in Megan and was determined to claim her. As soon as they arrived at the hotel, they mated with no desire to think
beyond that moment. And, then their problems began. At a stand still, Shane refused to give up his medical practice
and his ‘non-wolf lifestyle’ in Las Vegas. Likewise, Megan could not under no circumstances give up her position as an
Enforcer let alone live outside her pack pretending to be a human across the country in Las Vegas. And to top that
off, Shane was Megan’s sister’s anchor which tied him to her sister on a psychological and mental bond. Will this couple
be able to close both the geographical and emotional gap between them or was all hope lost?
Fated was an excellent read! I was equally torn between both Megan and Shane’s point of views as they struggled to
deal with what fate had thrown in their path. Both wanted, no needed to be together because of their mate bonding;
yet, neither was willing to give up their status among their respective society. I can say without a doubt that the sex was
never a problem between Megan and Shane. Their sex scenes were well written with plenty of sexual tension and steamy
enough to melt the pages. Their true frustration lied within everything else. The plot moved at a swift, exhilarating pace
so much so, that I quickly gobbled it up in one setting. From the beginning until the very end, I was completely hooked
and totally enchanted by Megan and Shane’s story. Thanks go to Lauren Dane for crafted yet another incredible
installment in her Cascadia Wolves series.

Megan Warden is the last single woman in her family and she’s feeling the pressure from her many female relatives to alter
that fact. It’s not like she wouldn’t be happy to have a mate, she just hasn’t found that one special man that makes her
wolf stand up and take notice. While picking up a friend of her sister at the airport she recognized, in his scent, that
elusive something that made her wolf beg. The scent of her mate, the man she knows denies his inner wolf; however, when
he chooses to claim her, Megan is sure he has had a change of heart.
Shane Rosario is a werewolf who lives as a human. After a lifetime of being told by his mother that to let his wolf out is
to lose his humanity, the wolf is something he’d rather not face. He knows about the mate bond however, so when he
recognizes the pull towards Megan he doesn’t even try to fight it. Once the bond is sealed there is no going back, but
Megan is fully immersed within a culture he wants no part of and the only time they seem to get along is in bed. Will
Shane be able to accept himself and Megan for the natural beasts that they really are, or will his absolute refusal to
face his true nature destroy them both?
Fated is an emotionally charged story that will hold you enthralled even as it rips at your heart, be prepared with a box
of tissues for this one because you’ll certainly need them. Never have I wanted to slap a hero upside the head with a
frozen Trout as much as I wanted to hit Shane, he is stubborn, arrogant and totally unwilling to work at the relationship
between himself and Megan. Of course that doesn’t stop you from actually liking Shane and feeling somewhat sorry
for him. Megan is a strong woman willing to make hard calls to protect herself and her beliefs, even when she’s miserable
and mopey she’s an easy woman to admire. The sex between Megan and Shane is explosive, they generated enough
heat to keep them trying for a relationship even when it seemed like a less than bright idea.
While Fated is part of the Cascadia Wolves series it is the first book that is not part of the earlier story arc, you could
actually read it as a stand alone book however, I recommend reading the whole series because they really are that good. I’
m a little melancholy to think that Fated may be the last of the Cascadia Wolves series. I’m hoping that Ms. Dane comes
up with more books, perhaps containing the children of all our favorite Cascadia Wolves.
