Bethany is an Offspring, a newly made vampire, and is thus required to attend Vampire Balls or die. Unfortunately
wholesale slaughter and blood consumption isn't really her thing. So at the first opportunity Bethany slips up to
the roof for some peace and quiet. She is not surprised that one of the Kinsmen follows her, but what does
surprise her is when she looks into Troy's eyes she doesn't see the look of cold indifference that is usual in a
Kinsman's eyes. Strangely enough she swears what she sees is something that looks a lot like caring.
Troy is a Kinsman, a vampire who has learned to use all the tricks of his species. Generally he only attended Vampire
Balls to help with the culling, the destruction of unsuitable Offspring, of those who are not properly adjusting to
vampiric life. This time however, the stakes are considerably higher because Troy has finally found the woman he
wants to spend eternity with. Only Bethany is marked for death, Aphrodite the Kinsman who made her is
disappointed in her unvampiric behavior. The only way to save her is to make her a Kinsman, so Troy decides to
steal her away to teach her how to use all her vampire gifts and help her learn to accept herself for the powerful, but
kind, vampire that she is now.
Always, a thrilling dramatic story full of suspense, kept me on the edge of my seat and will keep you on yours
waiting to see if Troy can teach Bethany enough to save her before her maker has her destroyed. In watching
Bethany grow from a scared weakling in denial of her new vampire nature into a strong dominant woman fully
accepting of all her gifts, vampiric and otherwise, Ms. Sidhe’s Always has helped remind me of a good life lesson;
do not dwell on your past perceived weaknesses but learn to use the strengths you have to their utmost. With a
strong and sexy alpha hero in Troy Always was full of the forceful sex and raging sensuality that only a true alpha
male can bring to a book. Ms. Sidhe has gained my attention with Always and I eagerly look forward to her next
book in the future.
