In the year of 1738, Brenna Skyler, a dark elf from the Unseleighe realm, has five more weeks left of her year in the
human world before she can return home to begin her formal training as a soul seer. Walking in the woods, she
stumbles upon a brutal vampire fight. Becoming spellbound by the scene in front of her, Brenna can not leave.
Her soul seeing ability enables her to determine the good guys from the bad, but it also shows her something very
strange. The wounded vampire has the soul markings of a dark elf. Seeing this, Brenna spirits him away to the
Unseleighe realm.
Phillip Noir awakens in a cottage with a beautiful woman standing over him. Their instant attraction leads to three
weeks of passionate bliss until the elders come to banish Phillip from the Unseleighe realm. Brenna and Phillip are
destined to meet again when several Sidhe women are attacked by a vampire. Brenna turns to the only vampire she
knows to help her solve this devastating problem. Can they come to terms with their uncontrollable desire while
trying to catch a killer?
Aubrey Ross’ A Taste of Midnight is spellbinding. This well-written story is loaded with suspense, adventure,
and love. I never wanted it to end. The powerful connection between Phillip and Brenna propels the story from the
very beginning. Phillip, the sexy vampire, is a dominate character who leaves his mark on the world around him. Brenna
is a woman who is torn between serving her people and staying with the man she loves. The difficult choices she is
faced with help to shape the woman she becomes.
The intense passion Brenna and Phillip generate hooks the reader from page one. Erotic love scenes and
blistering passion erupt when this couple is together. The ménage scene rocked my world when Phillip has to share
Brenna in order to create as stronger bond. I needed a glass of ice water to cool down.
Ms. Ross creates a magical world with almost limitless possibilities. I can not wait to travel back there again and
again. This is the second book in the series, but it can be read a stand alone. However, if you love this book you
have to read the first one as well. It is just as fabulous.
